In these tough times, NGO's, social institutions are coming forward to help people who are affected by COVID-19/Coronavirus. Every institution is doing its best efforts to help the needy and flatten the curve.

India is majorly affected by the virus and its effect has led to the whole country to get lockdown. Social distancing is the only solution the country has right now. Families of daily wage earners, factory workers, maids, waiters, taxi, laborers and auto-rickshaw drivers, and others whose everyday survival depend on their everyday earnings has come to a pause.

NGOs/Institutions which are helping those who are severely hit by the coronavirus lockdown are listed below:

1. Goonj NGO.

Goonj is helping the daily wage earners across India who are out of a job due to coronavirus & lockdown. Almost every daily wager is going back to their villages with hardly any resources as the factories, industries, and offices are shut.

2. Reliance Industries.

Led by Mukesh Ambani, Reliance has set up India's first dedicated Coronavirus Hospital in Mumbai. The hospital will take care of the coronavirus patients.

3. FEEDING INDIA (ZOMATO).

It's a non-profit organization that has been started by Zomato to provide dietary support to underprivileged families that are affected by COVID-19. The meal contains a combination of wheat flour, rice and two types of pulses. The kit is distributed to the families of daily wage earners across 26 cities.

4. Art Of Living Foundation (International Association for Human Values) and Indian film and television industry.

IAHV, the foundation which is led by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Both the foundations came together to help the daily wage earners and their families. Both the foundations will distribute grocery items and essential supplies to the people and their families who are severely hit during the Coronavirus pandemic.

5. Swasth Gram.

An NGO which has started in Delhi to protect people from Coronavirus. This NGO initiates door-to-door screening in Delhi. The members of the NGO have started their screening from Ghitorni, Delhi. They will be visiting every house in that area via thermometer cups. NGOs' aim is to stop the spread of coronavirus. At present, more than 2000 people have been screened by the NGO.

6. GiveIndia.

It is India's one of the largest and most trusted donation platforms. The foundation has initiated the mission to COVID-19 hit families. They will provide support to the families of daily wagers by providing direct minimum wage in cash till they are employed again.

7. Aseema.

The foundation is helping children from marginalized communities with basic essentials like rice, dal, sugar, etc. They have identified 600 families from marginalized communities in Mumbai and Igatpuri who are in urgent need of basic necessities.

8. HASIRU DALA.

Hasiru Dala initiated the giving of food and care kits to the vulnerable waste-pickers families. Currently, they have covered 260 families in 12 locations in Bangalore. They are providing care kits consisting of dry rations (rice, lentils, chilli powder, cooking oil, etc.) and soaps for 21 days.
