The lockdown has been lifted, but Corona is still lurking out there. In fact, it has been lurking out too long and too much. Do you take note of the companies that are firing their employees, Businesses shutting down, Restaurants closing permanently, Teachers not being paid, Daily wage workers living with imminent threats of starvation!
All because one virus leaked in China and the world suffered everything is valued. The loss of life is heartbreaking, but the future and reality are no solace either. Let us never forget what happened in 2020, let us learn from it and keep those lessons handy as we continue with our lives ahead. While the fear is still overwhelming, the best thing to do is be scared. Be so scared that we take good measures.
Earth is at a loss right now, not one country or state. Who is going to help whom? The entire economy is crippled. We are in a global crisis. How long can independent businesses sustain when there will be no demand or lesser than usual demand?
Delhi is in the red zone and the borders are frequently being shut. The vegetables and grain flow in from Haryana and U.P, the mass is buying vegetables at an inflated rate, whereas farmers are selling vegetables at dirt-cheap prices in villages because they cannot access the markets and suffering losses. We all are collectively damned
What is essential will be in demand, but what of salons? Magazines? Tourisms? Cafes? Exhibitions? They will suffer the most as they will barely witness any demand.
Companies have started cost-cutting. Some companies are firing employees and others are making their employees work extra hours with reduced salaries. Current graduates would not even get a job as all the companies have frozen hiring.
Kerala was the worst affected state, but look at them now! Frankly, we did not begin with a very bad condition and Delhi was under control until we all decided to fuck it up. Are we happy now that death is at our doorstep? Well, for women it is not a new situation as life has always been threatening in Delhi but hello men, join us too!
There were so many students and workers living in flats and P.G. They either have left the city or will do so, those businesses and landlords will suffer as well. With this population going back, will their hometown be safe and sufficient?
How we miss it and how much were we proud of it, but will we ever be okay traveling in it again? Only time will tell.
Life, in general, is threatened. Private hospitals have made a business out of it and the government does not care enough. People are left to die. At this point, everybody knows somebody (relative or friend) who has tested positive. It is this bad.
